Arts and Culture Trust launches inaugural strategic plan
The Arts and Culture Trust (ACT) is proud to announce the release of their inaugural Strategic Plan 2024-2028.
The plan is the result of many months of consultation across government, the performing arts sector and the broader arts and cultural sector.
The 2024-2028 Strategic Plan sets out the ACT’s vision and purpose, strategic focus areas and actions to deliver its remit as set out by the Arts and Culture Trust Act 2021.
ACT’s vision is to “inspire, welcome and connect people through performing arts and cultural experiences throughout the State.”
ACT’s purpose is to “grow and support Western Australia’s cultural and creative industries through the optimisation of our venues and activation of spaces.”
The relatively new legislation that governs ACT enables change in the way cultural assets are managed in Western Australia and sets the scene for greater flexibility in programming opportunities, as the Minister can declare spaces and places as temporary venues. It is this view that shapes the strategic direction of ACT.
Strategic partnerships are fundamental for the ACT with Resident Companies, WAAPA and North Metro TAFE to best achieve collaborative programming, training and education opportunities that meets the Trust’s objectives and benefits the sector.
