His Maj in the Limelight

His Maj in the Limelight

As part of the Boorloo Heritage Festival, His Majesty’s Theatre (HMT) and King St will be come alive from Sunday 21 to Sunday 28 April.

There will be a daily program of live music, guided walks, window displays and experiences prior to an incredible free light and sound installation projected on the Theatre.

The public is invited to come and celebrate HMT’s 120 years and watch the installation showcasing the Theatre’s rich history. The projections will play on a five-minute loop from dusk until midnight and promise to be spectacular.

Live music will play every evening from 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm on HMT’s balcony or downstairs on Hay St. There will also be a special performance by Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse (of Wundig Wer Wilura, West Australian Opera fame) on Sunday 28 April from 5.30 pm.

There will be a series of talks and tours covering everything from street art, to early Perth bars and musical history.

The whole event will culminate on Sunday 28 April with His Majesty’s Open Day from 10 am to 6 pm. There will be free family events to enjoy including silent discos, theatrical face painting and dance workshops. There will also be a memory booth where people can share their favourite memories of HMT.

There are also high teas on offer and a Sip and Sea Sundowner on our balconies.
