Perth Theatre Trust set for new era
Perth Theatre Trust has embarked on the most exciting era in its 34-year history.
On 1 January 2015, the Trust resumed direct management of His Majesty’s Theatre, State Theatre Centre of Western Australia, Subiaco Arts Centre and Albany Entertainment Centre.
Perth Theatre Trust Acting General Manager, Rudi Gracias, said the next 12 months would be an important time of transition for the Trust.
“The local arts sector and the public will see some immediate changes such as the Trust’s strategic plan for the next three years, new branding, and a user friendly website. Other changes will be rolled out progressively,” he said.
“Our new branding is a contemporary interpretation of stage footlights, synonymous with theatre related productions and is much more relevant for the dynamic and creative industry in which we operate.
“By rebranding PTT we are demonstrating that we have moved into a different phase – a new look for a new era of management and positive productive relationships with our key stakeholders.”
Mr Gracias said the new Trust website featured big, bold imagery and event pages promoting ticket sales.
He said the Trust had already started to work differently by collaborating with the Perth International Arts Festival and the Fringe World Festival.
“This year the Perth Theatre Trust joins Fringe World for the first time to present a comedy program in a new custom designed pop-up venue, The Gold Digger, which will be housed in the State Theatre Centre’s courtyard,” he said.

“This is a significant long-term collaboration for the Trust and we look forward to developing other new working relationships.
“There are also changes at our venues and we welcome Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company to the Subiaco Arts Centre as a resident company.”
Mr Gracias said the Trust would be developing stronger relationships with resident companies and the sector, enhancing customer experience and focusing on economic viability over the next three years.
“It is a very exciting time for the Trust and we will be striving towards achieving our vision of having full, vibrant theatres,” he said.
