Back for its sixth year and after sell-out performances in previous years, Perth Theatre Trust is proud to once again partner with the Western Australian Association for Mental Health to present Stand Up! For Comedy in 2019 at the State Theatre Centre of WA on 12 October 2019.
Every year Stand Up! For Comedy features a stellar line-up of comedians and this year is no exception. These comedians are some of Australia’s hottest names in comedy right now - Aaron Chen, Janelle Koenig, Nick Cody, Emma Krause, Karl Chandler, Tommy Dassalo, Laura Hutchinson and Brett Blake.
Stand Up! For Comedy will officially close the 52nd Anniversary of Mental Health Week. Part of the proceeds from the event go straight back to WAAMH to reinvest into community mental health.
Perth Theatre Trust General Manager Duncan Ord OAM is looking forward to another year of laughs.
“Stand Up! For Comedy has been a fantastic way to end Mental Health Week for the past six years, and Perth Theatre Trust is exceptionally proud to be working with WAAMH once again to raise money for such an important cause. Having a laugh and seeing the lighter side of life is great for health, and this event is a fun way to encourage important conversations about the journey of mental health,” said Mr Ord.
This year’s Mental Health Week theme is “Mental health starts where we live, learn, work and play”.
The aims of Mental Health Week are to encourage people to support and look out for one another, to promote mental health discussion, and to raise awareness of mental health issues and reduce the stigma of seeking help.
Tickets to Stand Up! For Comedy are available online, over the phone by calling (08) 6212 9292, or at the venue box office.
