STATE OF PLAY returns for a summer of non-stop entertainment at the State Theatre Centre of WA!
Perth’s coolest summer Fringe experience, STATE OF PLAY, is back at the State Theatre Centre of WA from 17 January to 8 February 2025, and it’s bigger, bolder, and bursting with fresh thrills! The award-winning independent Fringe Hub will bring a jaw-dropping program of live performances, offering something for every taste, age, and sense of adventure.
With 40 shows from local, national, and international artists, STATE OF PLAY promises a thrilling mix of comedy, theatre, music, dance and family-friendly interactive experiences.
This year’s program is packed with highlights including Luke McGregor’s new show OK, Wow, international sell-out sensation Garry Starr with the award-winning Classic Penguins and Logie award-winning Rob Carlton with Willing Participant.
Elevate your summer with the Adelaide Fringe Tour Ready Award-winning Lewis Major: Triptych, discover the wisdom of children in Barking Gecko Arts’ charming production The Quadrangle and dive into drama with FAG/STAG from WA theatre icons The Last Great Hunt.
The venue’s courtyard will come alive with music under the stars. Catch Adam Hall and the Velvet Playboys as they deliver sizzling hot jazz with their New Orleans Jazz Party, feel the genre-blending sound of TAB Family (Live in Concert), mixing afro-pop, soulful RnB, and hip-hop. For the lovers, Italian songstress Etta D'Elia is bringing the romance with the new show From Naples...With Love, featuring an optional cheese-making demonstration and tasting from La Delizia Latticini.
Located in the heart of Northbridge, the State Theatre Centre of WA is the perfect venue to enjoy the Fringe’s summer thrills, with the STATE OF PLAY bars serving up some local brews along with plenty of non-alcoholic drink options, all presented in air-conditioning comfort during those roasting hot weeks.
